Band season's over. It felt like it went by fast... July to November. Blood, sweat, tears, and more drama than the soap opera channel. I'm happy and sad at the same time... I wish we could have ended the season higher. We placed 8th in Finals--which is still an accomplishment, I know that our show touched a lot of people out there--but it's the lowest Kennesaw Mountain has ever finished. And as a junior... it's something that me and the rest of '10 are going to have haunt us. We'll slowly heal... but it was just so devastating that night. When we were in ranks on the field, we started looking at the people near us, wondering what had happened.

But that's okay. I'm glad I'm able to look on the bright side of things compared to a lot of people. Even though what I've said so far seems pretty negative.

I'm going to miss class of '09. Suddenly I'll be a senior. High school is going by so fast. I wish I could slow time down right now.

I'm so excited and hyper right now. Partially under the influence of cookies and Mountain Dew Voltage. Eeeee!!! The trip to Indianapolis and Grand Nationals is just a few hours away and I'M SO UNBELIEVABLY EXCITED. HOLY SMOKING CRACK HIPPIES. FOR REAL. ...now that that's out of the way, I learned about Rachel Joy Scott. Don't know who that is? Please look her up! I will explain more on Sunday or Monday when I return. I'm sick. Staying home from school today.

Today also serves as a mental health day, too.

So Obama won. I'm a bit disappointed but I hope I will be pleasantly surprised in the end. At school every black kid sat down during the Pledge of Allegience because Obama doesn't say it. Gee, what a great leader. What a strange little country America is.

So Halloween was Friday; band conflicted with any potential in celebrating. Football game and then the Atlanta super-regional on Saturday.

Well. Almost 24 hours at the Georgia Dome was very much worth it.

KMHS won the regional.

I'm so happy. It's the first time the school's won the regional in five years--it's one difficult you-know-what.

So for all my band friends on here--great job, everybody, but let's not stop there! There's still work to do and now our objective is to be good for the next competition!
